MY CHILD IS A TODDLER
Just teaching your child to speak seems to be a never ending process, but have you ever thought about why there are so many children's songs? The standard music collection of children's songs contains over 200 different songs, and most of them are designed to teach the child something. The Alphabet Song teaches the letters. (Who doesn't know that?) The Itsy Bitsy Spider song teaches about dealing with good days and bad days. (Did you know that?) We all remember the songs we learned as a child, and the messages they taught us stay with us our whole lives.
The amazing new Music Together Program provides a wonderful introduction to music for infants up to 5-year-old preschoolers. The singing and moving help build solid musical skills of pitch recognition and rhythm, while also establishing important one-on-one interraction and following directions abilities. Toddlers are strongly encouraged to move around and explore their environment throughout each session, as the strongest emphasis is placed on individual creativity and expression. Children at this age learn songs quickly and easily, and you will find them singing them in the car and at home all the time. Just as with other children's songs, the Music Together songs teach important concepts: sometimes lessons and sometimes abstact skills, and Music Together classes help students transition both into preschool and into private music lessons!
