KMI offers private lesson instruction in guitar, provided by very highly qualified and experienced teachers. The KMI curriculum ensures that students learn music theory as well as playing the instrument. As KMI grows and the student body is more advanced, faculty will be recruited to enable developing and offering the more advanced programs and other instruments.

Guitar: Student study in the Basix Guitar System Books 1, 2, 3, & 4. For Level 1 Theory the student uses Basix Guitar Theory. For Levels 2 –4, the student will use Kjos Master Theory Books 2, 3, & 4. Supplemental materials for technique and performance have not yet be identified.

[KMI Currently does NOT have an electric bass or banjo teacher.]

Electric Bass: Students study in the Basix Bass Guitar System Books 1, 2, 3, & 4. For theory the student will use Kjos Master Theory Books 1, 2, 3, & 4. Supple-mental materials for technique and performance have not yet be identified. Student must begin on 4-string bass before progressing to 6-string bass.

Banjo Bass: The method system for banjo has not yet been selected. For theory the student will use Kjos Master Theory Books 1, 2, 3, & 4. Supplemental materi-als for technique and performance have not yet be identified.
